5月17日至18日，湖北恩施州宣恩县沙道沟镇突降暴雨，河水暴涨，位于核心区域的白水河村受灾严重，已造成3人死亡、4人失联。截至19日11时，当地已紧急转移群众287人。受降雨影响，白水河村沿河区域多处房屋被淹、部分房屋倒塌、道路通信中断，成为“孤岛村”，当地干部群众深夜徒步进入受灾区域，组织群众安全转移。
