IT之家 5 月 9 日消息，参考外媒 Phoronix 当地时间本月 7 日报道，将于今年夏天发布的 Linux 7.2 Kernel 有望提供对瑞昱 (Realtek) 10GbE USB NIC 芯片 RTL8159 的主线支持，目前这款 USB 万兆有线网卡仅由瑞昱自家的 Linux 内核树外驱动程序支持。

开源开发者 Birger Koblitz 正致力于将 RTL8159 的树外支持代码集成到主线 r8152 以太网驱动程序中。这部分代码将合并至 Linux 网络子系统的 "net-next" Git 分支，目前尚需要将树外 PHY（物理层）固件集成到 inux-firmware 分支中才能实现 10Gbps 速率。
