此前，印度尼西亚羽毛球协会于今年早些时候决定放弃该项赛事的举办权。
2026年世界羽联世界青年锦标赛将是继2002年南非举办世青赛以来，世界羽联重大赛事第二次、也是24年来首次在非洲举办。
