此玉童子选用上乘和田籽料，玉质温润细腻，呈油脂光泽。造型多为圆雕童子，体态丰腴，面庞圆润，神情憨态可掬。其纹饰常作持莲、击鼓、抱灵芝等“婴戏”题材，线条流畅，寓意“多子多福、早生贵子”，是清中期玉雕中极具代表性的把玩小品。
