3月20日，在新疆吐鲁番经济开发区，吐鲁番市240万吨/年高品质纤维用煤制乙二醇项目正式开工建设，这也是目前全球最大单体煤制乙二醇项目。
该项目总投资257亿元，建成后将主产240万吨/年高品质聚酯级乙二醇，副产碳酸二甲酯、煤基乙醇等高附加值产品。据项目建设计划，项目工期为30个月，预计2028年底建成投产。
