2月24日，刘强东宣布个人投资50亿进军游艇行业。“这样才能够去跟欧美全球顶级的游艇制造公司竞争。”刘强东指出，精力依然放在京东集团，要造百分百新能源游艇，希望有一天能造出10万元级别的好游艇，“让游艇像汽车一样进入千家万户”。
