1月22日，SpaceX在提交至美国联邦通信委员会（FCC）的文件中表示，计划于2027年推出第二代星链卫星互联网系统。SpaceX表示，第一代服务已覆盖逾4亿人口，每月有超过600万用户使用该服务。SpaceX还投资了频谱资源，这将使其能够在2027年推出大幅增强的第二代直连设备系统。
