1月19日，迪士尼宣布，《疯狂动物城2》已正式超越皮克斯动画《头脑特工队2》，成为全球影史好莱坞动画电影票房冠军，这也让该影片跻身全球影史票房第9名。迪士尼介绍，《疯狂动物城2》全球累计票房17.03亿美元（北美3.90亿美元/国际市场13.13亿美元），《疯狂动物城》系列两部影片全球累计票房突破27.3亿美元。
