研究表明，静止状态下不戴帽子，在气温为15℃时，人体约1/3的热量会从头部散发；气温在4℃左右时，人体约一半的热量从头部散发；而在零下10℃左右时，会有3/4的热量从头部跑掉。在严寒的冬季，患有心脑血管疾病的人，若头部受寒，可能导致血压升高，引发心脑血管意外。
