12月24日，印度新孟买国际机场宣布正式开通商业航班，由印度靛蓝航空一架从班加罗尔起飞的客机完成首航。
新孟买国际机场通过一家特殊目的公司Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd（NMIAL）分阶段开发，其中阿达尼集团和城市与工业发展公司（CIDCO）分别持股74%和26%。
