据新华社电 (记者李黔渝)贵州省林业科学研究院科研团队在贵州习水国家级自然保护区开展野生植物资源调查时，发现一种形态独特的小檗科鬼臼属植物，确认其为鬼臼属植物新物种。
研究人员以其发现地命名为“习水八角莲”，该研究成果发表于国际植物分类学期刊上。
