保定市体育馆于1973年建成投用，是河北省第一座体育馆，作为城市体育地标融入了几代市民的共同记忆。由于建成年代久远，场馆一度老化。在2022年进行翻新后，该体育馆蜕变为品质领先、功能完善、智能管理的赛事场馆，如今通过承接河北省五人制足球超级联赛（简称“河北五超”联赛），吸引市民重新回归。
