本组球队中，一档球队比利时队现世界排名第8，二档球队伊朗现世界排名第20，三档球队埃及队现世界排名第34，四档球队新西兰现世界排名第86。
比利时队世界杯最佳战绩为2018年世界杯季军。埃及队在1934年世界杯作为16强之一，但当时比赛为单败淘汰制，埃及队首轮即遭淘汰，进入世界杯小组赛时代埃及队至今未出线过。伊朗队以及新西兰队同样至今均未在世界杯小组出线。
