10月22日，欧洲央行副行长路易斯·德·金多斯（Luis de Guindos）表示，他对当前的借贷成本水平感到满意。“欧洲央行目前的利率水平是合适的，”他表示。欧洲央行官员将于23日进入10月30日议息会议前的为期一周的静默期。
市场普遍预计，决策者将在此次会议上维持存款利率在2%不变。由于通胀稳定在欧洲央行2%的目标附近，市场和经济学家还预计，央行在12月的今年最后一次议息会议上也不会采取行动。
