北京时间10月20日，布鲁克林篮网官方宣布，今年八月完成半月板切除手术的前锋海伍德-海史密斯，在康复过程中出现右膝肿胀。经过医疗评估，海史密斯需要调整康复计划以缓解肿胀，并将在八周后复查。
今年休赛期，热火将海史密斯+2032年次轮签交易至篮网，换得2026年受保护次轮签。他上赛季代表热火出战74场比赛，场均贡献6.5分3.4篮板。
