2024年10月16日，英格兰代表队官方宣布图赫尔担任英格兰代表队主帅，不过他并没有立即上任，而是在2025年1月1日才出任英格兰代表队主帅。
去年11月的两场欧国联B级赛事由英格兰U21代表队主帅卡斯利担任临时主教练。
自图赫尔担任英格兰代表队主帅以来，他共计率队出战8场比赛，取得7胜1负的战绩（6月曾在友谊赛1-3不敌塞内加尔）。
