菲律宾民防局10月11日下午称，10日发生在菲律宾南部的强震导致的死亡人数已经上升至8人。其中包括东达沃省3人，金达沃省4人，达沃市1人。据中国地震台网正式测定，10月10日9时43分，菲律宾群岛地区发生7.4级地震，震源深度50公里。菲律宾火山地震研究所通报的震级为7.5级，随后下调至7.4级，并报告有多次余震。
