阿丘瓦在2020年第1轮第20顺位被热火选中。上赛季，他为纽约尼克斯队出场57次，场均20.5分钟，得到6.6分5.6篮板1.0助攻0.7封盖0.8抢断，命中率50.2%，三分命中率27.8%，罚球命中率59.4%。
