现年31岁的姆本巴与马赛的合同已于今年6月30日到期。在经历了一整个赛季无球可踢以及夏窗拒绝了多份报价之后，他最终与里尔签订了一份为期一年的合同。
据多方消息证实，姆本巴实际上在数月前就已向马赛检察院提起诉讼，以回应上赛季被球队弃用的决定。
