9月17日，安徽苏州一桥上有一名老人在桥上翻出栏杆站在桥外欲跳河轻生，危急时刻一退伍军人表情轻松佯装上前递烟，缓解老人紧张情绪。该施救者颜先生称，自己当过兵，看到后便和老人聊天递烟，让老人放松下来，随后等警方抵达后，一起将老人安全救下。
