9月16日刘强东在京东品酒会上与媒体交流，谈及与美团王兴的竞争，他表示今天约了王兴和王莆中，但两人都没能来。刘强东称民营企业应该简单，见面聊聊。“我认为企业家不应该变成仇人，不要把正常商业竞争变成一个个人的恩怨”。他还表示很尊重王兴，也很赞赏王莆中。
