如何理解until 1978和in 1978（难点语法）

看这句的what I did was...因为主句的谓语动词是was，后面是动作，呆在商店，看着别人买收音机。表语只能用非谓语动词，因为是目的，要用动词不定式。虽然动词原形也行，但是这个想法一定会使有些同学思维混乱，我不提倡。我的修改版本如下

接下来讲解until 1978，根据语境判断，收音机绝对是1978年买的，不是1978年之前买的。后面的主句是we bought a ...谓语动词是bought。1978年买不起，所以用否定形式，因为经济条件而买不起，最好用couldn't afford。就是词组not until“直到...才”，只是把until 1978放在了句首。意思对了，直到1978年才买了那个收音机。我的修改版本如下
