9月8日，西湖大学发文称，西湖大学创校校董、顾问委员会委员David Baltimore教授，于2025年9月6日因病在马萨诸塞州伍兹霍尔逝世，享年87岁。西湖大学在悼文中表示，“对西湖大学而言，Baltimore教授是一位极其重要的‘同行者’和‘引领者’。”
