8月26日，广东长隆野生动物世界内一只黑猩猩手持木棍暴打一只鸟，另一只黑猩猩看到后连忙上前阻止。对此，园区工作人员回应称，展示区内的猩猩不与饲养员直接接触，种群管理由专业部门负责，被打的鸟误入了黑猩猩的展区，目前正在救治中。
