8月22日，据媒体人“白晓篮”的消息，王俊杰表示明年可能会参加NBA选秀，没选上也将在海外寻找机会。
白晓篮写道：“CBA球队暂时先别惦记他了。王俊杰说明年可能会参加选秀，没选上也会在海外寻找机会，24-25岁之后才会考虑其他选项。 ”
此前结束的亚洲杯比赛中，王俊杰场均能得到13分4.2篮板1.2助攻1.3抢断，投篮命中率56.1%，三分命中率47.8%。比赛结束后，王俊杰仅休整20小时便启程返美去旧金山大学开学报到。
