对此，同为肯塔基大学出身的唐斯更新了社媒，致敬沃尔：“肯塔基的GOAT！兄弟，祝你享受退役生活！”
作为2010届选秀大会的状元，沃尔是肯塔基校队历史上第一位NBA状元，而唐斯是2015届的NBA状元。
