7月30日，桑德兰俱乐部官方发布公告，宣布从勒沃库森引进扎卡，根据此前媒体的报道，这笔交易的费用为2000万欧元。
根据统计，从夏窗开启到目前为止，桑德兰已经完成了7笔引援，花费了大约1.3亿欧元。
桑德兰夏窗引援名单：

2、阿丁格拉 从布莱顿引进 2440万欧
3、勒费埃 从罗马引进 2300万欧
4、塔勒比 从布鲁日引进 2000万欧
5、萨迪基 从圣吉罗斯联合引进 1700万欧
6、雷尼尔多 自由身加盟
6、扎卡 从勒沃库森引进 2000万欧
