当地时间7月23日7时25分，位于印尼西苏门答腊省的马拉皮火山发生喷发，喷出的火山灰柱最高达1600米，喷发时产生的轰鸣声远至20公里之外的城市都能听见。
目前该火山处于二级警戒状态（最高警戒级别为四级）。相关部门建议公众避免在火山口附近3公里半径范围内活动。
