7月21日，保时捷宣布全新911 Cup赛车将于今夏全球首发，作为单一品牌杯赛赛车，将用于保时捷美孚一号超级杯及部分卡雷拉杯系列赛。“现款911 GT3 Cup已具备极高性能水准。”保时捷赛车部门GT赛车项目负责人Jan Feldmann表示，“这让我们能更专注于全球单一品牌杯赛的反馈，打造出一款在多项细节上优于现款911杯赛版本的赛车。”
