北京时间7月15日，东亚杯第三轮，中国香港代表队将迎战中国。
据中国足协官网统计，中国队与中国香港队历史上共计交手27次，其中中国队赢下18次，平7次，输2次，打进48球，丢7球。
其中，双方上一次交手是在2024年1月1日，在备战亚洲杯的友谊赛中，中国队1-2不敌中国香港，这也是球队历史上第二次不敌中国香港队，另外一次输球是在1985年的世预赛上，当时国足在北京1-2被中国香港击败。
