1984年，向华强带着怀着长子向佐的陈岚赴台，专程祭奠父亲向前时的合影，两人站在墓前，皆是神情凝重。
向华强的父亲向前曾是军统少将，抗战时期在港创立“新义安”，一度权倾一时，后来被港英当局打压，并驱逐至台，其在1975年病死，至死未再返港。
