7月6日，有网友称，青岛大学一位宿管人员不幸离世。当天下午，青岛大学保卫部门向媒体确认了该消息。
该校学生称，青岛大学的学生宿舍都没有空调。就在7月6日早晨，滢园宿舍内另有一名学生中暑被救护车送医治疗。
