莫拉托在场上司职后卫，上世纪五六十年代，他为葡萄牙体育效力7个赛季，出战了超过100场比赛，他是球队夺得1961-62赛季葡萄牙顶级联赛冠军的一员。此外，他的儿子也曾是葡萄牙体育的一员。
