北京时间6月10日晚，世预赛18强赛最后一轮，日本坐镇主场迎战印度尼西亚，最终日本6-0血洗印尼。
本场比赛，日本前场球员久保建英首发并担任场上队长，据统计，久保建英以24岁零6天的年龄成为日本队在世界杯最终阶段预选赛（10强赛/12强赛/18强赛）中最年轻的场上队长。
此前的纪录保持者是2006年世界杯预选赛期间的后卫宫本恒靖（现任日本足协主席），当时他28岁零2天。
