新能源汽车的兴起曾让芯片行业充满希望，新能源汽车提供了诸多科技，为了体现这些汽车的科技特性，新能源汽车大量采用芯片，据估计新能源汽车采用的芯片至少在千颗以上，功能丰富的新能源汽车甚至可能采用近3000颗芯片。对比之下，手机包括芯片在内的诸多配件也才100多件，而且汽车芯片需要进行强化，以应对汽车芯片在汽车的高温、多尘、震动环境下正常工作，如此汽车芯片的价格远超手机芯片，以智能座舱芯片为例，高通的8195芯片当时售价超过3000元，而高通的高端手机芯片才1400多元，这更是让芯片行业对汽车芯片充满期待。然而新能源汽车的辉煌是如此之短暂，2024年上半年达到顶峰，2024年下半年就逐渐走下坡路了，到2024年底新能源汽车占新车市场的比例已跌至42%，再加上激烈的价格战，芯片行业对汽车芯片有多高的期待，就有多大的失望。供应链传出的消息还指出，一些电车企业为了节省成本，不采用成本昂贵的汽车芯片，而是直接将手机芯片用于汽车上，这更是让汽车芯片行业失望，他们耗费巨资研发的汽车芯片成本太高，难以卖出，进而成为库存。随着汽车芯片步入下坡路，也预示着新能源汽车行业的辉煌正在快速终结，毕竟汽车芯片作为上游行业往往会比新能源汽车的市场表现更快反映市场的真实状况，可能谁也没想到新能源汽车的寒冬来得如此之快，并且如此之冷，这正所谓眼见它起高楼，眼见它楼塌了，实在让人唏嘘。
