根据多方消息源的报道，德国、中国、巴西和美国均提交了申办的方案，而中国在投票的最后决胜轮遗憾出局。
值得一提的是，同日的投票结果，还决定了阿斯塔纳将举办2027年世乒赛、福冈将举办2028年世乒赛（团体）。
