北京时间5月15日，据现代快报报道，网传视频显示，本次世乒赛只参加男单和混双比赛的王楚钦，在陪男双训练。
此前，前国乒队员曹巍在直播中透露，此次多哈备战期间，男队左手队员袁励岑腰部受伤，坚持跟队前往多哈，而王楚钦恰好是左手球员。2025世乒赛将于5月17日至25日在多哈举行。
