据美国媒体11日报道，美国教育部当晚起将实施大规模裁员计划。
报道称，美国教育部目前约有4000名员工，预计将裁减约1300名员工。根据联邦政府指令，11日晚至12日，教育部所有员工将被禁止进入办公地点。
美国总统特朗普此前曾多次声称将撤销教育部，将其职能转移到各个州。他称，新任教育部长的“首要职责是解散教育部”。
