赛前根据统计，埃因霍温在欧战中面对意大利的球队成绩并不理想，近5次欧战对阵意大利球队他们2平3负未尝胜绩。此外在近14次欧战对阵意大利球队的比赛中，埃因霍温也仅仅取胜过2次，其余12场比赛4平8负。
