1月30日消息，南非体育部长麦肯齐（Gayton McKenzie）接受采访称，该国计划筹集5000万美元资金，为申办2027年世界一级方程式锦标赛（F1）提供资金支持。
麦肯齐称，南非方面本周已同F1组织方洽谈，将于5月提交申办申请。他表示，南非已开始与喜力和红牛等潜在赞助商磋商，寻求帮助筹集申办赛事所需资金。
