1月24日，澳网男单半决赛，37岁的德约科维奇首盘告负后因伤退赛，赛后他表示要结合本赛季的情况看是否明年还能出战澳网。
被问到是否是最后一次参加澳网，德约科维奇说：“我不知道，有这个可能，我需要看看这个赛季的情况(I don't know. There is a chance. I'll just have to see how the season goes.)。”
“谁知道呢，但是如果我身体健康，并且有动力，我没有理由不来。”
