中国地震台网正式测定：1月13日20时19分，在日本九州岛附近海域（北纬31.70度，东经131.75度）发生6.7级地震，震源深度20千米。
当地时间13日21时29分，日本气象厅发布海啸“注意”预警，提醒宫崎县、高知县部分地区注意海啸。海啸预计最高到达高度为1米左右。（总台记者 林博翰 报道员 柏春洋）
