据澎湃新闻等多家媒体公开报道称，辽宁省本溪市桓仁满族自治县（以下简称“桓仁县”）五里甸子学校家长反映，学校食堂给孩子吃垃圾桶内的饭菜，群聊显示家长称因菜不够，工作人员把垃圾桶里的菜又拿出来给孩子吃，五里甸子镇政府称已经成立专案组调查。
