11月18日，2024中国国际友好城市大会在云南省昆明市开幕，本届大会以“共享共赢 共创未来”为主题，来自五大洲41个国家的地方政府代表等共700余人出席。
大会期间，美国国际姐妹城协会荣誉主席卡罗尔·洛佩兹在接受采访时表示，两国要继续加强民间交流，以友好城市和青年往来增进友谊。
