10月23日，生物技术公司Modifi Biosciences宣布已被默克公司（Merck）收购，默克公司在美国和加拿大以外的地区被称为默沙东。根据协议条款，默沙东公司通过一家子公司以3000万美元的预付款收购了Modifi Biosciences公司的所有流通股。Modifi Biosciences的股东还有资格获得总额高达13亿美元的潜在里程碑付款。
