10月1日，2024年WTT中国大满贯男单1/16决赛激战正酣，瑞典名将莫雷加德和日本名将张本智和顺利晋级，成功会师1/8决赛。
男单1/16决赛中，莫雷加德3-2力克日本选手松岛辉空，五局比分分别为：11-5、9-11、5-11、11-9、11-4。
另一场比赛中，张本智和3-0横扫埃及选手穆罕默德-埃尔贝亚利，三局比分分别为：11-4、11-5、11-8。
