It is reported that a German Defense Ministry official today said ships from the country transiting through the Taiwan Strait were not directed to anyone, and they are, in fact, supporting the international principle of freedom of navigation.
"We respect countries' right to navigation in relevant waters in accordance with China's laws and international law, including UNCLOS.
