财联社9月10日电，由于英格兰和威尔士地区的监狱人满为患，英国政府准备提前释放约1700名囚犯，以缓解监狱过度拥挤的问题。英国首相办公室警告称，如果没有足够的空间关押罪犯，英国可能面临“不受制止的犯罪”。英格兰和威尔士的监狱将在当地时间10日释放1700名囚犯，预计9月和10月一共将有5500人提前出狱。
