8月6日，中国女排在奥运会女排八进四的比赛里2-3憾负出局，赛后，女排队员王媛媛接受了采访。
谈到失利，她说道：“其实，我认为对手发挥得非常好吧。这样的结果从我个人来讲没有遗憾，因为我们已经尽了我们最大努力，然后想去取得这一场胜利。但是我觉得竞技体育就是实力为主吧。”
