1948年12月 老北京生活，此时正是平津战役期间。布列松作为《生活》杂志特派摄影记者飞抵北平。他的摄影集《FROM ONE CHINA TO THE OTHER》1954年出版，书名译成中文《从一个中国到另一个中国》，蕴含“转折”之意。
